Ellyn Satter sounds like a smart cookie. Thanks for introducing me to her.
I think that we all have friends that seem like they can eat whatever they want and never gain a pound, so it's nice to be reminded that overall health is by far more important than whatever number you see on the scale. My mother also always says that those friends are probably watching what they eat more than we realize...
Trish- I was so happy to find Ellyn Satter! She's so amazing, and smart. I wish more people like her existed and spoke up. I had my own thoughts about normal eating and then came across her piece and thought nothing I had to say in anyway compared to her eloquence and wisdom.
Samara- Agreed, one smart cookie. We all have those people in their life, but agreed who knows what really goes on, and who knows how healthy they are even if they are not watching things. I have friends who manage their weight by having a bowl of cereal for dinner. It might keep the pounds down but it's not terribly well balanced and where's the fun in that? Boooring night after night.
I really REALLY like this video. Very informative. I needed to hear that. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYay! So glad! It's a really important point for everyone to keep in mind. I'm still trying to define my normal.
ReplyDeleteGreat video! I love Ellen Satter. Thanks for sharing!
